FAQ

How do I get to Pomfret for the retreat?

Pomfret is located between the cities of Boston, Providence, and Hartford; and is an easy 1.5 hour drive from Boston and 3 hour drive from New York. We’re also accessible by train and bus, and are convenient to several airports.

Those traveling by plane should plan to fly into the Hartford airport. If you will be arriving by bus or train, you will want to travel to the Hartford station.  For those who will be arriving via plane, bus, or train, Idlewild can arrange to pick you up at the airport or station for an additional fee.  If you’d like our help getting to and from the station / airport, please contact us before you finalize your travel reservations so we can coordinate travel times.

What should I bring with me to the retreat?

Plan to bring any writing supplies or resources you’d like to use, including a laptop and pen and notebook. While we will provide simple, locally-sourced meals, we encourage you to bring any special snacks or beverages you’d like to enjoy at the retreat.

The weather in New England can vary, so please pack enough layers to ensure that you will be comfortable regardless of the temperature, and in case of rain, remember to bring a raincoat and umbrella, and rain shoes or boots.  We will have easy access to the Airline Trail right from our backyard at the Auberge, so you may also wish to bring comfortable walking shoes, running shoes, hiking boots, or sneakers.

Can I attend with my partner or spouse?
